Yen Sung is a former Senior Consultant in the Global Aviation Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers where she conducted various international business advisory and consulting projects in the strategic, commercial and operational areas of the aviation sector. Yen is FCA authorised and has been heavily involved in providing transactional advice to airline, airport, ANSP, MRO and Ground Handling businesses and in managing major change programmes.
Her clients include AENA, Aer Lingus, Airbus, BAA, British Airways, DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, Etihad, Flybe, GB Airways, Qantas, SAS, SR Technic SWISS, Vueling, funding institutions and private equity houses with aviation interests.
With over 25 years’ in aviation consultancy, Yen has extensive experience in managing strategic and operational change programmes, conducting due diligence and restructuring, supporting major transactions, and airline/airport operational efficiency and capacity management. Some key assignments include:
- Managing a major change programme in an international airline’s ground operations, which involved driving through efficiency measures, enabling technology, initiating value-adding processes and capacity management improvements
- Planning for collaboration between DFS and NATS within a shares acquisition transaction
- Leading a worldwide study on capacity management at major congested airports, involving Level 3 airports and key airlines
- Due diligence/transaction support to private equity/trade investors for an MRO, ANSP and several airline businesses
Yen holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management and a BEng in Civil Engineering (Hons) from the University of Liverpool. She is a Chartered Member of the UK Institution of Civil Engineers. She is a native Chinese Mandarin/Cantonese speaker, fluent in English and has conversational French and Malay.
