Petteri Kostermaa is a network strategy and planning expert. He has held a number of senior positions at Finnair spanning the management of alliances, partnerships and international relations, network strategy, sales and marketing, customer service and operations.
Petteri formulated and executed a global route network strategy for the airline's expansion into 11 cities in Asia with 70 weekly flights, making Finnair’s Asia-Europe operations the airline’s largest business. In the process, Petteri negotiated slot access at some of the most congested airports in Asia. During his time at Finnair, Petteri also planned and led the integration of the airline into the Oneworld Alliance’s Atlantic Joint Business; a US$9bn transatlantic joint venture with American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia, which added 200 new Finnair transatlantic codeshare flights to the Finnair network.
In addition, Petteri developed a strategic business plan, pricing and network models for FlyNordic in Sweden and launched the airline’s operations in three Scandinavian countries. On the commercial front, Petteri has developed new international routes and markets for Finnair utilising his sales and marketing experience.
